Meet The Maker

My name is John Michael Kirton. I started in leathercraft as a solution to a very simple problem. I had an image in mind for a keychain, only that keychain didnt exist yet. After scouring the interwebs for months I decided I would just make it myself. I’ve always been a creative artist and do-it-yourself for the experience kinda dude, so I did. And I loved it. Keychains quickly became wallets, then guitar straps, and so forth. I quickly learned how big brands use cheap or fake materials, and other unethical methods for the sake of corporate profit and so Defiant Goods was born in early 2019.

Defiant Goods is a brand for the non-branders, the misfits, and the outcasts. We take pride in the quality of the products we express ourselves by. And, we hold values like integrity over profits, so all of our products are Fair Trade friendly. That means no child labor or slavery involved, as well as ethically sourced materials that are all procured here in the USA. 

All of our products are made, start-to-finish, by hand, using methods and techniques that honor age-old craftsmanship. With that in mind, being the sole crafter, our lead times can vary from 1-6 weeks and I appreciate your patience.
